Rajesh Joon is running as an Independent (IND) candidate in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, representing the Bahadurgarh (General) constituency. At 57 years old, Joon is a seasoned professional with a background in business, as stated in his election affidavit filed with the Election Commission of India and analyzed by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).
A graduate by education, Rajesh has declared assets worth Rs 61 crore, which include Rs 63 lakh in movable assets and Rs 60.4 crore in immovable properties. His total income is also declared at Rs 6.4 crore, all of which is his self-earned wealth. Despite his significant financial standing, Joon has disclosed liabilities amounting to Rs 19.4 crore.
In his election affidavit, he has mentioned that one criminal case has been registered against him. As a businessman stepping into the political arena, Joon is focused on leveraging his experience and resources to bring positive changes to his constituency, Bahadurgarh.
Rajesh has taken a decisive lead in the race for the Bahadurgarh seat in Haryana. After 14 out of 17 rounds of counting, he is ahead of his nearest rival by a margin of 32,272 votes. So far, Joon has secured 58,718 votes, while Dinesh Kaushik from the BJP is in second place with 26,446 votes. Rajinder Singh Joon from the Congress is trailing in third place, having garnered 24,109 votes.
